Reliable technology does not happen by accident. It is the result of careful planning, quality materials, skilled installation, and ongoing support. For more than 25 years, DataTel 360 has helped Atlanta businesses build the infrastructure that quietly powers everything else, and these video guides distill that experience into practical knowledge any decision-maker can use. Below, we connect the topics covered throughout this resource center so you can see how the pieces of a modern business network fit together.

Network cabling and structured cabling in Atlanta

Every reliable network starts with the cabling behind the walls. Network cabling in Atlanta is the physical layer that carries data, voice, and increasingly power to every device in your building. When that cabling is installed as a planned structured cabling system rather than a tangle of ad-hoc runs, the entire network becomes easier to manage, troubleshoot, and grow. Good commercial network cabling in Atlanta follows recognized standards, uses the right cable category for the job, and is tested and documented so future changes are simple. Whether you are wiring a single suite or an entire campus, the discipline of structured cabling protects both uptime and the resale value of your space.

Choosing the right cable matters. Cat6 cabling installation in Atlanta has become the practical standard for most office network wiring, delivering gigabit speeds and reliable Power over Ethernet for cameras, access points, and phones, while Cat6A supports the higher density and 10-gigabit links that some environments demand. A seasoned data cabling contractor in Atlanta helps you match cable category, pathway design, and budget to how your business will actually use the space over the next five to ten years. As a licensed low voltage contractor in Atlanta, DataTel 360 coordinates with electricians, general contractors, and facility teams to deliver clean, code-compliant, certified infrastructure.

Fiber optics: installation and repair

When distance, bandwidth, or reliability exceed what copper can deliver, fiber takes over. Fiber optic installation in Atlanta connects buildings, floors, and data centers at speeds copper simply cannot match, and it forms the backbone of nearly every enterprise network. Our videos explain how fiber is planned, pulled, terminated, fusion-spliced, and certified, and why each step protects these delicate strands from the damage that causes outages. We also cover fiber optic repair in Atlanta, because construction strikes, rodent damage, and bend stress happen, and fast, correctly tested repairs are what get a business back online. Understanding single mode versus multimode fiber, loss budgets, and backbone design helps you invest in commercial fiber optics in Atlanta that will serve your organization for a decade or more.

Business phone systems, VoIP, and unified communications

Communication is the lifeblood of every business, and it has moved decisively to the cloud. Modern business phone systems in Atlanta are increasingly hosted VoIP phone systems in Atlanta that route calls over your internet connection and bundle in features that used to require expensive hardware: auto attendants, mobile and desktop apps, voicemail-to-email, video meetings, team chat, and business texting. Our videos explain how cloud VoIP works, how to migrate cleanly from a legacy PBX without disrupting daily operations, and how platforms such as unified communications suites bring phone, video, and messaging into a single tool. The right system depends on how your team works, your internet capacity, and your growth plans, and local support makes deployment and day-to-day management far smoother.

Telecommunications infrastructure and enterprise networks

Behind the cabling, fiber, and phones sits the infrastructure that organizes everything: the MDF and IDF rooms, the racks, the switching, and the protected power. Strong telecommunications infrastructure in Atlanta is designed as a system, with a well-built Main Distribution Frame at the core, intermediate closets extending the network to each area over a planned fiber backbone, and UPS protection guarding critical equipment. For larger organizations and multi-site operations, enterprise network installation in Atlanta brings redundancy, consistent standards, and thorough documentation that keep complex networks manageable. When infrastructure is planned rather than assembled piecemeal, the whole network is faster to support, easier to scale, and far more dependable.

Business technology infrastructure that grows with you

Ultimately, every topic in this resource center serves one goal: dependable business technology infrastructure in Atlanta that supports your operations today and adapts as you grow. The videos here are educational by design, meant to help you understand your options before you spend, plan moves and rollouts with confidence, and know who to call when an emergency strikes. FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about structured cabling, fiber, VoIP, infrastructure, and support. Don’t see yours? Request a consultation or call 770-441-9999.

What is structured cabling?
Structured cabling is an organized, standards-based wiring system that connects every device in a building, phones, computers, cameras, and access points, back to central network rooms. Instead of running cables ad-hoc, structured cabling uses planned pathways, patch panels, and labeling so the network is reliable, easy to troubleshoot, and simple to expand as your business grows.
What is the difference between Cat6 and Cat6A?
Both are copper cabling categories, but Cat6A supports higher bandwidth and reliable 10-gigabit speeds over longer distances, with better shielding against interference. Cat6 is the practical standard for most office network wiring and gigabit connectivity, while Cat6A is chosen for high-density environments, 10-gigabit links, or where you want maximum future-proofing.
When should businesses install fiber optics?
Fiber makes sense when you need to connect buildings or floors, run cable beyond copper's distance limits, or support high-bandwidth applications. It is the standard for network backbones. If you are planning a new build-out, connecting multiple structures, or anticipating heavy data growth, installing fiber, or at least the pathways and spare strands for it, is a smart long-term investment.
What is an MDF room?
The MDF, or Main Distribution Frame, is the central hub of your building's network. It houses the connection from your service providers, the core switching equipment, and the start of your backbone cabling. Everything else, including the IDF closets on each floor, connects back to the MDF, which is why its design, power, and organization are so important.
What is an IDF room?
An IDF, or Intermediate Distribution Frame, is a satellite network closet that extends the network from the MDF to a specific floor or area of a building. IDFs connect back to the MDF over the fiber backbone and serve the work areas around them, keeping cable runs short and the network organized in larger facilities.
Can DataTel 360 repair fiber optic cabling?
Yes. We locate faults with an OTDR, then prepare, fusion-splice, and re-test the damaged section to restore service. Fiber damage from construction, rodents, or stress is common, and our certified testing confirms the repaired link performs to specification. We also offer emergency support when a fiber outage threatens your operations.
What business phone systems do you support?
We support modern cloud VoIP and unified communications platforms, including hosted systems and platforms such as Intermedia Unite and Zultys, as well as hybrid setups that bridge legacy equipment. We help you choose based on how your team works, your internet capacity, and your growth plans, then handle deployment and ongoing support.
