Estimator & Lead Field Technician (1099 Contractor)
We are currently seeking an experienced Estimator & Lead Field Technician capable of conducting site surveys, developing estimates, leading installations, and managing field technicians on commercial telecommunications and technology infrastructure projects.
Estimator & Lead Field Technician
Responsibilities
- Conduct onsite surveys of commercial facilities.
- Document MDF/IDF locations, cable pathways, and infrastructure requirements.
- Prepare labor estimates, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and scopes of work.
- Design structured cabling, fiber optic, VoIP, and network infrastructure solutions.
- Lead installation projects from start to finish.
- Perform installations alongside field technicians when required.
- Manage and direct technicians and subcontractors.
- Ensure quality workmanship, proper labeling, testing, documentation, and customer satisfaction.
- Communicate project progress with customers and management.
- Maintain project schedules and resolve field issues as they arise.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in structured cabling, fiber optics, telecommunications, or IT infrastructure.
- Experience preparing project estimates and scopes of work.
- Proven ability to lead installation teams and manage projects.
- Ability to read floor plans, blueprints, and construction drawings.
- Strong customer communication and organizational skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Project-based earning potential
Compensation is based on project estimating, project execution, and successful project completion — your results drive your earnings.
Additional Requirements
- Candidate must be willing to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).
- Professional appearance and conduct required.
- Extended travel assignments may occasionally be required and will be compensated on a case-by-case basis.
