New Construction Structured Cabling Atlanta | DataTel 360
New Construction · Atlanta

New construction structured cabling for Atlanta’s commercial builders.

DataTel 360 designs and installs the complete low-voltage backbone for new commercial buildings and tenant build-outs across metro Atlanta — from the first pathway rough-in through certified testing and as-built documentation. Most projects are built on Cat6 and Cat6A copper, and our Atlanta structured cabling services give general contractors and developers a single, accountable low-voltage partner from preconstruction through closeout.

What This Page Covers

  • Cat6 & Cat6A cabling designed into the building from day one
  • Fiber backbone linking the equipment room to every floor
  • MDF and IDF telecommunications-room buildouts
  • Wireless access-point and IP-camera cabling
  • Full testing, labeling, and as-built documentation
  • Coordination with your GC, electrical, and finish trades
The Complete Scope

One low-voltage backbone, installed the right way.

A new building’s cabling is the foundation every other system rides on. We plan the entire pathway and cabling system as one coordinated package, so your commercial network infrastructure is ready for occupancy on day one — not patched together after the walls close.

Cat6 & Cat6A Cabling

Voice and data drops, patch panels, and horizontal cabling engineered per drop for today’s speeds and future growth.

Fiber Backbone

Single-mode and multimode risers connecting the main equipment room to each floor’s telecom room.

MDF & IDF Rooms

Racks, cabinets, backboards, grounding, and terminations built to spec in every telecommunications room.

Wireless & Device Cabling

Access-point, security-camera, and IoT device cabling placed and tested to support a dense, reliable network.

Every run tested, labeled, and documented

Closeout is where we earn repeat GC relationships. Each copper and fiber run is certified to TIA standards, and you receive clean labeling and complete as-builts.

Fiber Backbone & Pathways

Backbone fiber that ties the whole building together.

For multi-floor projects, we design and install the fiber backbone connecting the main equipment room to each floor’s telecommunications room. Review our fiber optic installation and repair capabilities for details on single-mode fiber, multimode fiber, fusion splicing, and OTDR testing. When a project spans multiple buildings or a campus, our outside plant fiber infrastructure team handles underground conduit, inter-building fiber, and site pathways.

Rooms, Wireless & Devices

The systems your tenants notice first.

Telecom rooms, wireless coverage, and camera placement all depend on cabling decisions made during rough-in. We plan them together so nothing gets value-engineered into a problem later.

MDF & IDF Buildouts

Purpose-built telecommunications rooms with proper racks, cable management, grounding, and backboards. See our MDF and IDF buildout services for how we standardize each room.

Access-Point Cabling

Ceiling-rated drops placed for real coverage, not guesswork. Pair the cabling with business Wi-Fi and internet failover for dependable wireless from move-in day.

IP Camera Cabling

PoE camera drops roughed in at the right heights and sightlines. Our commercial security camera cabling supports a clean, expandable surveillance system.

Specialized Environments

From distribution centers to tenant build-outs.

New construction covers a lot of ground — high-bay warehouses, occupied renovations, and everything in between. We adjust the cabling design to fit the environment and the schedule.

Warehouse & distribution centers

Large open spans, high ceilings, and racking systems demand a different cabling approach than office floors. Our warehouse network infrastructure planning guide walks through coverage, backbone routing, and durable pathways for industrial sites.

Tenant improvements & relocations

Suite build-outs, renovations, and building moves rarely happen on empty floors. Our office relocation technology services keep phased work on schedule while staff and tenants stay productive.

Preconstruction & plan review

The cheapest time to fix a low-voltage problem is before it’s built. Our technology consulting and site surveys catch pathway conflicts, undersized rooms, and coverage gaps during design — not after inspection.

  • Low-voltage plan and drawing review
  • Pathway, conduit, and sleeve coordination
  • Telecom-room sizing and location
  • Wireless heat-map and coverage planning
  • Rough-in and trim-out scheduling with the GC

FAQ

New construction cabling questions

Do you work from construction drawings and coordinate with our general contractor?
Yes. We work from architectural, electrical, and low-voltage drawings, attend coordination meetings, and schedule rough-in around the framing, ceiling, and finish trades so pathways and cabling land on time.
Should we run Cat6 or Cat6A for a new commercial building?
It depends on the application. Cat6 supports 1 Gbps and short-run 10 Gbps, while Cat6A supports 10 Gbps to 100 meters and is the better choice for high-density Wi-Fi access points, uplinks, and future-proofing. We help you choose per drop during design.
What testing and documentation do you provide when the job is finished?
Every copper and fiber run is tested to TIA standards with certified results. You receive labeled outlets, patch panels, and racks, as-built documentation, and test reports for your records and warranty.
Can you install the fiber backbone between the main equipment room and each floor?
Yes. We design and install single-mode and multimode backbone, fusion splice and terminate the fiber, and OTDR-test each run connecting the main equipment room to every floor’s telecommunications room.
Do you handle low-voltage for tenant improvements and build-outs, not just ground-up construction?
Yes. We support tenant improvements, suite build-outs, renovations, and relocations, working within occupied buildings and phased schedules to minimize disruption.
What areas around Atlanta do you serve for new construction cabling?
We serve Atlanta, metro Atlanta, and North Georgia, including commercial projects throughout the state of Georgia.
